Marketing Tools
Overview
HSBC and SIFE are eager to obtain positive media coverage of the 2008 HSBC Financial Literacy Grant Programme. To do this, all aspects of the media programme at the country level will be managed directly by the SIFE staff within that country. SIFE teams should work with their SIFE country coordinators on media or publicity ideas. At SIFE world headquarters, the Marketing Communications Manager will be your contact at PR@sife.org.
Media Interviews
Any direct approaches from the media should be referred to the Marketing Communications Manager at PR@sife.org.
Press Releases
If you create a press release, do not use the HSBC logo. If you wish to issue a press release on a local level, do so only under your regular stationery or your SIFE press release letterhead.
How to refer to HSBC
HSBC has strict procedures on employees being quoted. NEVER quote HSBC or their employees without pre-approval from HSBC’s in-country media contact. The standard line should be "This financial literacy project is supported by HSBC and SIFE." Please send copies of all printed articles to the director of the HSBC Financial Literacy Programme, Morgan Clevenger, to mclevenger@sife.org.
We certainly encourage you to mention in conversation and otherwise that HSBC is one of SIFE's most generous donors in your country and worldwide.
HSBC Logo Use
Should you wish to use the HSBC logo on any item, it must be pre-approved. Please do not copy and paste logos from anywhere. For more detailed guidelines and downloadable logos, please visit the HSBC Logos and Guidelines page. The HSBC logo should NOT be used on apparel or signage at events, per their request.
