Topic Competitions - Egypt
Purpose
To encourage tertiary SIFE teams to educate others how to develop their personal financial management skills necessary to achieve financial independence.
Judging Criterion
SIFE Criteria 4: How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created economic opportunity by helping others develop their personal financial management skills necessary to achieve financial independence?
Participation Details
The official name of SIFE Egypt's Financial Literacy is: The HSBC Financial Literacy SIFE Topic Competition. SIFE Teams are required to use this official name when making reference to their financial literacy SIFE activities throughout the year including during their presentation at national competition (audio visual and written annual report). The HSBC is being recognized as the national sponsor of SIFE Egypt's Financial Literacy program.
A minimum of 10 t-shirts highlighting this topic sponsorship will be made available to each SIFE Team. Team members are encouraged to wear them whenever feasible in carrying out related project activities in the field. Also, an electronic copy of the topic sponsor's official logo will be made available to each Team for 'proper and appropriate' use when relevant. Teams are very strongly encouraged to display this logo in their annual report and audio visual presentation at national competition when reference is made to their financial literacy activities, since this will make it significantly easier for the sponsor judges to identify the relevant initiatives and score them accordingly.
Business leaders appointed by HSBC Bank will be assigned to judge in each league of the SIFE competition where they will evaluate the overall effectiveness and impact of each team's financial literacy initiatives as per the judging criterion.
Awards
Official Award Name: The HSBC Financial Literacy SIFE Topic Competition Award
First Place - approximate local equivalent of L.E. 3000 + plaque (1 'first place award' for each opening league)
Second Place - approximate local equivalent of L.E. 2000 + plaque (1 'second place award' for each opening league)
Third Place - honorary mention (1 'third place mention' for each opening league)

Educational outreach projects completed effectively for The HSBC
Financial Literacy SIFE Topic Competition will simultaneously
fulfill at least SIFE judging criteria #4 in the overall national
competition.
