Shanghai, China — Cargill China and SIFE China received the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai Partnership Award at the 3rd Annual AmCham Shanghai Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference and Awards today. This honor recognizes the most successful program created through a partnership between a company and a non-profit organization. The Cargill/SIFE partnership was chosen based on their success of leveraging valuable assets for mutual benefit while providing a model for other companies and non-profits in China to follow.
Cargill and SIFE impressed the judges for their multi-level cooperation, which included mentoring, judging, funding and strategic guidance. Cargill is an international provider of food, agricultural and risk management products and services. SIFE supports more than 70 university teams in China and challenges college students to develop community outreach projects that promote sustainable development in struggling communities, while also building social consciousness and practical work experience among the students.
Award winners at the CSR Conference were judged according to the applicants’ achievements in corporate governance, environmental impact, social impact and workplace practices.
