Sprinfield, Missouri, USA - The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation has significantly increased its financial support of SIFE from $300,000 to $500,000 this year. This is the second of a three-year flagship partnership agreement with SIFE. With these additional funds, the Foundation has stepped up to be the official sponsor of the SIFE Entrepreneurship Individual Topic in Ghana, Swaziland and Tunisia in addition to the following previously funded countries: Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Kenya and Zimbabwe. Over 50 SIFE teams in these countries will identify opportunities to teach individuals how to start and/or grow a business and help them get a jump start on a successful venture.
The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation has also funded the Small Business Development Assistance Program in Morocco while also being an official regional sponsor of SIFE Africa and the annual SIFE World Cup.
The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, created in 2001, is the engine to coordinate The Coca-Cola Company’s corporate social investment in Africa. The foundation addresses individual and collective needs across issues of health, education, entrepreneurship and the environment, as well as supporting subject-matter expert development. In short, it is a clear reaffirmation of The Coca-Cola Company's belief in, and long-term commitment to Africa.
