SIFE is pleased to announce the Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge for 2010 was a huge success, collecting nearly 697,000 pounds of food for food banks and community hunger relief programs. This year's challenge top winners include:
- Australia: University of Melbourne – 3,200 pounds*
- Canada: Okanagan College – 37,000 pounds*
- Mexico: Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies, Monterrey Campus – 32,000 pounds*
- USA: Oregon State University – 65,000 pounds*
SIFE partnered with Campbell Soup Company in 2009 to launch Let's Can Hunger, a joint hunger relief initiative that is designed to accentuate Campbell's commitment to nourishing lives. The program challenges SIFE teams to create projects that raise awareness about hunger, issues satisfy immediate hunger needs in local communities and implement long-term solutions to empower those who are food insecure to break the hunger cycle.
