Johannesburg, South Africa — The University of KwaZulu-Natal SIFE team was named SIFE South Africa National Champion and will advance to represent South Africa at the SIFE World Cup in Singapore this October. Eighteen teams participated in the South Africa National Competition 3 July, and more than 450 people attended this event, including leading business executives who judged the competition.
Every country that operates a SIFE program is eligible to conduct a national competition for the teams in that country where each SIFE team presents the results of their outreach projects to determine which teams made the most impact on their communities. The national champions then face each other at the SIFE World Cup. Forty-two SIFE teams are expected to participate in this year's international competition.
